Back Then (again)

about

This song dates back many years, and there have been a few different versions of it. Back Then was how I'd named it because there was something about it in its earliest form that was evocative of an undefined earlier time. The idea was that this time was once there, but it was now harder to see, know,, or reach.
It was originally taken at a slower tempo, and was simply a couple of guitars, bass, and percussion. Those things made it have a little bit of an "early music" feel, in the same way that some songs I remember from 70's Prog bands once did. I decided to revisit this song after recently buying an acoustic 12 string guitar. I thought it'd be perfect for this song, and that a quick, and easy re-do would happen.
Well....., weeks later, the 12 string is there, but it's not particularly prominent, and there are now 3 distinct soft synth parts and a whole new intro and outro that had never been there before. The quicker tempo and a shifting drum part changed it even more. Of course, this all meant the bass part needed to be revised too.
Now that it's done, here it is. Again, for anyone who might've heard an earlier recorded version. For those who are hearing it for the first time, I hope it may still take you in your head to that earlier time I alluded to, and that it will be a pleasant journey to wherever you wind up going.
