Pioneer School

This is here now as a new recording on bandcamp despite the fact that it was completed in 2014. The basic story is that I had a massive computer problem in 2016 that left me thinking this was a lost Master recording, and that all I had for this work was an mp3 which survived.
Therefore, I set about a week or so ago in 2023 to re-record this song. For some dumb reason, that was done without listening to the surviving mp3. I did a lot of work on that new recording, and then did listen to the mp3 to find that my new version, is basically a new and different song.That'll be called The Schooled Pioneer, or something along those lines.
Then, wonder of wonders, I found a backup of the Master lost in the computer abyss that survived on dvd. I was able to open this today, do a few minor tweaks to the sonic presentation, and here it is!
This is a song that is sort of a simpleton cousin to the great John McLaughlin track called Lotus Feet, originally on a Mahavishnu album called Inner Worlds. In my mind, that was clearly an influence on this composition and recording, although Lotus Feet doesn't sound much like this.
This was recorded in a simpler DAW recording environment, and with fewer recording skills than I now possess, but I always liked what came out of those efforts. Hoping that anyone hearing this will enjoy it, and that the forthcoming 2023 update is different enough to warrant the presence of each of them here.
